A 3-week hands-on STEM program where students design, build, and ride their own e-bike — and take it home when they're done.
Learn Build Ride is a 3-week summer STEM experience for middle and high school students in Redondo Beach. Students don't just learn about engineering — they live it, working through real problems to build a functional electric bike from the ground up.
Every student completes the program with a fully working e-bike they built with their own hands. Not a kit. Not a simulation. A real machine.
Three weeks, one complete journey. Each week builds directly on the last — from understanding the science, to assembling the machine, to riding away on something you made.
Students explore the science behind electric bikes — how motors, batteries, circuits, and mechanics come together to move a machine.
Hands on the bike. Students assemble every component, wire the system, and troubleshoot like real engineers solving real problems.
The bikes are live. Students test, tune, and take their first real ride — then take it home. The project is complete and the bike is theirs.
When students build something real, the learning sticks in a way no lecture can replicate. The act of solving a problem with your hands — wiring a circuit, troubleshooting a motor — creates understanding that lives in muscle memory, not just notes.
Classroom instruction tells you how something works. Building it teaches you why it matters. Learn Build Ride is designed around that difference.

Students in project-based learning programs show greater gains in critical thinking and problem-solving than traditional instruction
Real project completed. Not a simulation. Not a worksheet. A fully functional electric bike that you built yourself.
"I had a blast and learned so much — way more than I expected. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to actually build something real."
